The Debut of Cooler Master MasterLiquid Pro 140 and 280 CPU Liquid-Cooling Systems

This year the Cooler Master company has released a series of original MasterLiquid Pro liquid-cooling systems for Intel and AMD CPUs. The models with 120 mm and 240 mm heat sinks were the first to be released. Now it’s the turn of MasterLiquid Pro 140 and 280 devices, using the liquid-cooling systems heat sinks of the suitable size.



These novelties with a “one-piece” and “two-piece” heat sinks have much in common, though they differ in heat spreader dimensions (171 × 138 × 27 mm and 311 × 138 × 27 mm), as well as in the location of the 140 mm fans pair. MasterLiquid Pro 140 has them mounted on both sides of the heat dissipator and MasterLiquid Pro 280 — on the one side only.


Coolers consist of the big water unit with the inbuilt pump, pipes made out of fluorated ethylene-propylene copolymer in braided cable, the aluminum heat sink and fans with a high static pressure rate (up to 3.15 mm H2O).

PowerColor Teases Red Devil RX 480 Videocard

TUL Corporation is about to hit the market with an off-beat gaming graphics card, based on AMD Radeon RX 480 GPU. The PowerColor Red Devil RX 480 8 GB GDDR5 employs a retrofitted PCB with the 6+1-phase VRM. The board incorporates a single 8-pin connector, instead of a 6-pin one.



Like the etalon model, the creation from TUL uses the 4th-gen AMD GCN architecture & AMD Polaris 10 GPU. The integrated GPU features 2304 stream processors, 144 TMUs and 32 ROPs. Its clock frequency index makes up 1330 MHz. The core cooperates with 8 GB of GDDR5 memory (256-bit interface) that runs at 2000/8000 MHz frequency (base/efficient). The list of external interfaces boasts three DisplayPort ports, one HDMI and one DVI-D port.


The Red Devil RX 480 8 GB GDDR5 comes equipped with a brand Double Blade III cooler. It consists of four nickel-plated heatpipes (2x 6 mm, 2x 8 mm), an aluminum heatsink as well as three 80-mm fans. The latter are developed on double ball-bearings.

Intel to Take Care about Power-Efficiency of Ivy Bridge Processors

The rising competition between the two giants in the manufacture of processing units, Intel and AMD, makes each of the two invent ever newer technologies and implement them in their products. The attempts to dominate in the market and win as many consumers usually develop into brand new approaches and brand new advanced facilities.



In this light, Intel is going to upgrade its Ivy Bridge processors to make them more power-efficient.
