Raijintek Metis Plus – New Look of Cases
Introduction
Raijintek company has a newcomer in the range of their cases: meet Raijintek Metis Plus. It is compact and is made in the form of a cube what is quite unusual. The weird novelty has such dimensions: 277 х 190 х 254 mm and fits Mini-ITX motherboards.
The model can suit to anyone: there are seven different color variants available. Let’s see if there is anything new about it besides its design.

The German engineers have paid attention to the customers carefully and being relatively young company decided not to lose their respect and trust. The new feature of their developed cases became a covered hole for air ventilation of the video card. It is situated in the upper panel and prevents the overheating of the inner components.
The transparent small window is situated on the right side panel, but not on the left as it is used to be in other cases.
The case frame is made of 0.5mm SPCC steal. The external panels are made of aluminum and have the thickness of 1.5 mm. Due to these factors it weights only 2.6 kg and in general it is space saver.
Metis Plus maintains the mounting of coolers with the size up to 160mm, video cards with the length up to 170 mm and PSUs of standard size. There is enough space to put in four storage drives of 2.5 inches and one of 3.5 inches or the user can settle two and two storages of each size.
On the back panel two holes for output of expansion cards’ interface panels are included.
The standard mounted Raijintek Metis Plus cooling system is the only one 120 mm diameter fan mounted on the rear panel. And all the possibilities for completing it are reduced to installing the upper fan of the same diameter.
The Metis Plus inherited from the predecessor the original layout of the seats for components. In particular, the motherboard should be oriented down with the processor socket and have the PCI Express slot up. Next to this there will be an ATX-compatible power supply (the fan is facing the card, the power cord is brought from below through the extension), and the drives are above it.
It will be better if at least some of the power supply cables are detachable, because every centimeter of free space in the Metis Plus body is valued about rubies.
The I/O panel is at the top. It is represented by two USB 3.0 connectors, headphone and microphone sockets.
The Raijintek novelty will be available in different colors: red, black, silver, white, blue, green, gold. The pallet for the motherboard, the dust filter and a number of other parts are completely black.
The reverse side of the case is the only one of the outer elements, which differs from the overall design. Here, the simple material of a black matte color is applied. In general, this approach can not be called a minus, as it is purely technical zone of the case.
The lower part of the case doesn’t differ from the whole design. Here we can distinguish the presence of four well-made legs. They are rubberized and screwed to the case. Also, there is an opening for the power unit - this is where the air, heated by it, will come out.
Conclusion
The case of Raijintek Metis allows assembling an adequate system of mITX form-factor. At the same time, the following positive aspects can be noted: good quality of the used materials, the degree of their processing and fitting to each other, as well as an interesting "inverted" configuration with a viewing window.
But also you can note the lack of ventilation holes on the top panel, which in a compartment with a hot powerful video card can make the mode of the drive installed in the 3.5 "bay not the most comfortable, but at the same time because of the absence of unnecessary drilling the case looks as solid as it possible at a whole.
With its price (near $80), Metis is definitely cheaper than a lot of analogs and has several competitors that are cheaper.
