Meet the 2nd Generation of Maximus 2 Platform from Nvidia

Last November Nvidia 'shattered' the IT market with its Maximus platform. Currently, the company is officially presenting the second generation of the platform – Maximus 2. The new platform is based on the advanced GPUs which employ Kepler architecture. The major task assigned to the Maximus 2 is to provide an unmatched performance and efficiency in quite different spheres of enterprise, starting from computer graphics and finishing with oil industry. Besides, it has got improved facilities of virtualization and analyzing activities.



According to the data claimed by the manufacturer, workstations developed on Maximus 2 platform will be put into sale already this December. It is already known that there are a number of companies that will employ Nvidia Maximus 2 in their product lines. Hence, such companies as Dell, HP, Lenovo, Supermicro, and BOXX technologies will introduce their workstations based on this platform.

Area Claims the Development of Four New Expansion Cards

Area, a Japanese hardware retail company, has voiced its intentions to release four new expansion cards with SATA III interface and USB 3.0 ports. The announced products are called to present additional expansion facilities to PC systems. According to the present-day data, the release will include four models: PE4U3E-3E1 Sport Quattro, D-EP34U3R-S3, SD-PEU3R-2T2IL, and S-PESA3ES2L.



The first model, codenamed PE4U3E-3E1 Sport Quattro, will be based on Etron EJ188 controller. It will accommodate four USB 3.0 ports, three of which are external and the other one – internal. This expansion card will employ PCI Express 2.0 x2 bus for the connection to the PC interface.


The second model, codenamed D-EP34U3R-S3, will operate under the supervision of Renesas D720202 controller. The model will include two external and two internal USB 3.0 ports. MSI adds new all-in-one PC, entitled Gaming 27, to its product line. Despite being a small-sized solution with a thin frame, the model employs a highly-efficient hardware base that is thought to support the most demanding games. The heart of the system is a 4-core Intel Core i7-6700 CPU combined with the motherboard based on Intel H170 chipset. The core operates at 3.4 GHz frequency but is able to overclock up to 4.0 GHz index. Besides, the new-comer is guided by Windows 10 OS.
