DevID : : xDSL Modems

The functions of the telephone networks in recent years has expanded considerably, primarily due to the special technology that increases the bandwidth of the subscriber line. These technologies include xDSL (Digital subscriber line) which uses linear codes and instruments of adaptive correction of distortions of the lines. To connect to a phone line common to use special devices (modems), for which the installed drivers for xDSL modems.

Adapters xDSL are designed to significantly increase the speed of data transmission on the line and, unlike a standard analog or digital modems, support voice and video signals. This creates advantages for both the end user and the provider.

It should be noted that the first letter in the acronym – s – replaces the designation of the first character in the name of a specific technology standard. Today widespread following standards:

  • ADSL provides two-way data transfer at a speed of 8.192 MB/s. from the provider to the user and up to 768 KB/sec. from user to provider.
  • ADSL G.lite offers two ways of transmitting data: symmetric and asymmetric. In the first case, the technology provides bandwidth of up to 384 KB/sec. in both directions; in the second case, the speed of transmission from provider to user is 1.536 MB/sec. and from user to ISP is 384 KB/sec. For maximum performance, we recommend that you download drivers for xDSL modems.
  • IDSL uses for chips basic access BRI ISDN, providing bandwidth up to 128 Kbps.
  • DDSL version of broadband DSL technology access lines for Frame Relay with a bandwidth of up to 768 KB/sec.
  • SDSL transmits data at symmetrical line. Transfer speed may vary depending on the physical parameters of the subscriber line.
  • HDSL has high data transfer speed of 1.5 MB/sec. and more in both directions.
  • VDSL – ultra-fast digital line, which provides throughput at the level of 52 MB/sec.
