Transcend has introduced a series of new 2.5'' solid-state drives, codenamed SSD320. The new product supports SATA III 6 Gb/sec standards, and is notable for the outstanding data transfer speed, as well as, reliability. SSD320 is based on SandForce SF-2281 controller of the second generation which adds to the overall performance.



Transcend SSD320 series will include drives of various volume capacities, starting from 64 GB and finishing with 256 GB. These models employ MLC NAND flash-memory chips. In addition, those SSDs support error correction technology. Transcend has taken care of its new series and promoted for the unmatched performance and showings. SSD320 ensures quick download of programs and practically instantaneous system response while working with complicated graphic material or multimedia applications. Being announced a short while ago, the Intel NUC6CAYS mini-PC has not been on sale yet. Though recently it has become known, that Amazon started to sell this product at the price of $233, and its cost has already decreased to $215.



NUC6CAYS is equipped with the Celeron J3455 CPU from the Intel Apollo Lake line. The 4-core central processing unit operates at the 1.5–2.3 GHz frequency. It features the 2 GB DDR3L-1600 random-access memory, the 32 GB eMMC module, the HD Graphics 500 graphics processing unit and two SO-DIMM slots. The case offers space for the 2.5-inch drive with the 6 Gbps SATA interface.


The device supports (1x1) Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Gigabit Ethernet. It is also fitted with a VGA, an HDMI 2.0 and four USB 3.0 ports. The 65 W external power pack is added to the supply kit.

Biostar has replenished its PRO series of motherboards with a budget-friendly model – H110MD PRO. The greenhorn is based on Intel H110 chipset compatible with Intel Skylake Socket LGA 1151 CPUs. As far as this micro-ATX board is an entry-level solution, it offers just basic facilities, including 5-phase VRM, a pair of DIMM slots for DDR3L-1600 MHz modules (maximal capacity – 16 GB).
