Gigabyte Unveils X299 Aorus Ultra Gaming Pro Mainboard

Gigabyte is glad to announce a real godsend to advanced gaming or business-oriented systems in the shape of its newest mainboard. The X299 Aorus Ultra Gaming Pro model is developed in ATX form-factor. It is based on Intel X299 chipset, supporting Intel Core X CPUs for Socket LGA2066 platforms. The core is accompanied by 8-DIMM slots for the installation of up to 128 GB DDR4-4400 MHz memory which is able to operate in 4-channel mode.



Gigabyte X299 Aorus Ultra Gaming Pro motherboard offers the possibility to install RDIMM memory modules; their volume might be increased up to 512 GB. Storage subsystem consists of three M.2 Socket 3 connectors as well as eight SATA 6 Gb/sec ports. Expansion facilities are ensured by 5x PCI Express x16 slots; all of them are predestined for powerful graphics adapters (3-way configurations). Asus Unveils GeForce GTX 970 DirectCU II OC Black Graphics Card

Asus is about to release another addition to the GeForce GTX 970 series of adapters – the GeForce GTX 970 DirectCU II OC Black. This videocard is differentiated by a totally black exterior (including PCB, fans and heatpipes) with bright-red details. Besides, it might boast the implementation of a factory overclocking as well as an advanced cooling system. Asus recommends selling the new-comer at the price tag of about 400 EUR.



Asus GeForce GTX 970 DirectCU II OC Black is based on Nvidia Maxwell GM204 GPU with 1664 stream processors, 64 ROPs, and 104 TMUs. It runs at 1114 MHz (nominal)/1253 MHz (dynamic) clock frequencies. The card is equipped with 4 GB of GDDR5 memory (256-bit interface), operating at 7000 MHz frequency. WD Prepares Voluminous Re+ HDDs for Data Centers

Western Digital announces a new high-capacity 3.5-inch HDD for data centers. The WD Re+ will be available in versions of up to 6 TB. All of them are designed with power-saving ideas in mind; hence, their maximal power consumption index does not go above 6 W. The new-comer employs five-platter architecture and SATA 6 Gb/sec interface that guarantees the maximal efficiency level. Moreover, its MTBF index approximates 1.2 million hours on average workload index of 550 TB per year.



The WD Re+ is distinguished by the following advantages:

— the incorporation of dual actuator positioning system that improves the drive’s working efficiency;

— the implementation of RAFF technology that monitors HDD parameters in real time and compensates for the linear and angular vibration;

— the employment of StableTrac technology that reduces vibrations and stabilizes drive platters;
