Zalman Introduces Three New Fan Series for PC Cases

Zalman, a highly-acclaimed designer of miscellaneous hardware pieces, has elaborated three completely new series of low-noise fans: ZM-FDB(SF), ZM-LED(SF) and ZM-Plus(SF). The ‘triple’ embraces the models of 80 mm, 92 mm and 120 mm dimensions. The fans do not support PWM technology, thus feature a stable rotational speed. The most peculiar feature is low noise level (not more than 23 dB), despite the range of speed.



Zalman ZM-FDB(SF) are characterized by the implementation of high-quality fluid-dynamic bearings. Their lifespan is estimated as 150.000 hours. The other two fan series – Zalman ZM-LED(SF) and Zalman ZM-Plus(SF) — involve long-life bearings, which are thought to be quite reliable and effective. Their framework features dust-repelling mechanisms and this promotes for the elongated lifespan.

Spire Showcases New Cylinder-Shaped Swirl IV CPU Cooler

Spire is going to release a new extraordinary cooling solution: a cylinder-shaped CPU cooler, entitled Swirl IV. It is targeting Intel processors for Socket 2011/1366/115x/775 and AMD FM1/FM2/AM2/AM3 platforms with the maximum TDP level of 130 W. The new-comer has received RoHS and CE certification that proves its environmentally-friendly nature. An official release is postponed to January 2015.



Spire Swirl IV features 131x125x62 mm dimensions and weighs 690 g. Its heatsink consists of 45 aluminum fins, pierced by three copper zinc-plated U-shaped heatpipes (8 mm). Inside the heatsink one can find a 60 mm fan with blue LED backlit. Its rotational speed is controlled by PWM technology so that the blades could run between 600 RPM up to 2000 RPM.

Silicon Power Unveils Armor A85M External Storage

Silicon Power Computer & Communications is about to kick off with the newest stress-proof external drive, entitled Armor A85M. The model, targeting Mac users, features 132.5x92.3x25.9 mm dimensions and completely complies with MIL-STD 810G Method 516.6 Procedure IV standard. It also enjoys IP68 protection rating. The new-comer will be shipped with a 3-year’s warranty; however, pricing is unknown yet.



The storage is thought to operate within a wide thermal range – from 5 to 55 C degrees. Moreover, it might be employed in tough conditions, i.e. submergence, fall from a height of 1.2 m, storing in extreme colds/heat (-40 C degrees — +70 C degrees).
