Hard drives still confidently dominate on the notebook market, according to analysts

SSDs are gradually penetrating into mobile computers, but can not yet can become a serious competitor of hard disk drives. Even recently observed slowdown in demand for notebooks with hard drives will not lead to a decrease of the part pf these models in favour of laptops, where SSD is the main storage, analysts believe.



According to the first quarter of this year, models from the HDD larger than 500GB, offered at $ 450-550, formed the largest segment of the market at a rate of 32% of total deliveries. Second place with 26% take laptops with HDD capacity over 320GB, which cost $ 350-450. They are followed by models with HDD larger than 640GB ($ 550-650 price range), than go HDD larger than 750GB ($ 650-750), they are followed — with 250 GB HDD (price less than $ 350), next — the HDD larger than 1 TB ($ 750-900). And only in last place, relevant to market by about 3%, are laptops with SSD volume 128GB or HDD with very large volume (price — $ 900 or more).

AMD FX-8300 is Already in Retail Trade
