Meet New Offbeat 284E5QHAD Monitor from Philips

MMD, a licensed developer of PC monitors under Philips brand, has recently announced the release of a new high-end model: the 28-inch 284E5QHAD. The model is differentiated not only by a large display, unprecedented viewing experience and an astonishing design, but also by the availability of inbuilt speakers of 14 W power (7 W each). According to MMD, the product is an ideal means for web surfing, photo/video viewing, and management of power-intensive graphics design applications.

Philips 284E5QHAD is based on MVA panel, accompanied by W-LED backlit. The panel guarantees image production in Full HD resolution, as well as a lot of other valuable specifications: wide viewing angles (176/176 degrees H/V), the support for SmartContrast technology that ensures 20M:1 dynamic contrast index, the maximal brightness of 300 cd/m2, and the maximal number of displayed colors – 16.7 million.

To proceed with the facilities, the 284E5QHAD is thought to support SmartImage Lite technology. It provides for the adjustment (optimization) of all crucial image parameters, depending on the profile. With the purpose to enhance imaging, the manufacturer equips the monitor with TrueVision option; this option improves the quality of images due to special algorithms and display settings.

The new-comer houses three different video interfaces: D-Sub, HDMI and MHL-compatible HDMI. MHL interface enables the connectivity with a wide range of mobile devices, with the possibility of simultaneous charge-in. Besides, it translates video data from the smartphones/tablets to the display in Full HD format. Among other advantages, one should mention the availability of Kensington’s lock and the support for VESA mounting.

Finally, the 284E5QHAD totally corresponds to such eco- and energy-saving standards, as RoHS, EPEAT Silver, EnergyStar 6.0, allowing for a recycling procedure of all packing stuff.
