Noctua, an Austrian developer and supplier of high-end cooling systems, is well-known for the design of versatile products which are able to satisfy the needs of any consumer, starting from average home users and finishing with devotees of overclocking. The recent Noctua creation is the low-profile CPU cooler destined to be employed in HTPC systems and other compact chassis. This cooler is characterized by the horizontal localization of radiator that allows its installation into a quite narrow casing. At the same time, the model is efficient enough to manage high-performance advanced processors.



Design and Framework


Noctua NH-L12 is notable for the classic design and framework. It features 150x128x93 mm dimensions (with two fans) which barely speak of low-profile form factor. Let's view over the AMD top processor model – Ryzen 7 1800X shipped in the original packaging, with the appearance of which the designers worked quite hard. In general, with the release of Ryzen, the degree of pathos in novelties is simply off-scale from a box to software; all the seriousness of the approach to the release of Zen solutions could be felt.


But for the CPU itself, the user will find in the box a sticker with the Ryzen logo for the case, as well as the installation instructions. The lack of a cooling system is not surprising as the Ryzen 7 1800X/1700X processors are still available only without it.

PC-8F is a new Lian Li PC framework, performed in the Mid-Tower form factor. Like many other Lian Li cases, the novelty is almost entirely made of aluminum, however it stands out against parallel solutions due to its reasonable price.



PC-8F is 500 mm long, 210 mm wide and 476 mm high, and weighs 4.5 kg. It can house an ATX, microATX or Mini-ITX mother board, seven PCI-E expansion cards, an ATX-compatible power supply, a couple of 3.5-inch and three 2.5-inch HDD drives. Graphics adapters should not be longer than 410 mm, and the maximum CPU cooling system allowed is 170 mm.


The front part of the chassis offers enough room for the 360/280 mm liquid cooling system heatsink with fans of the corresponding standard size. On top of that two more fans can be installed (on the top and on the rear panels). Connectivity options include one Type-C USB 3.1, two USB 3.0 ports, and a pair of 3.5 mm audio jacks.
