Model SG09 is the ninth chassis of Sugo series designed by SilverStone. Upon the whole, the series consists basically of compact parallelepiped casings that presuppose the integration of small-sized mini-ITX motherboards only. Still, Sugo SG09 features more voluminous dimensions (354x220x295 mm) and cubic-like casing that widens its compatibility area a bit. All previous Sugo models were perceived primarily as compact solutions with a quite aesthetic design. But Sugo SG09 positions itself as a reliable platform for a powerful PC system.



Layout


Chassis SilverStone Sugo SG09 has got rather unusual layout due to the need to accommodate a full-sized PSU, a lengthy graphics adapter, a voluminous CPU cooler, and some kind of data storage system in a casing of 23 liters in capacity. Gigabyte presented a new overclocking model of video card Tahiti XT, designated as GV-R797TO-3GD. In comparison to the current Radeon HD 7970 OC (GV-797OC-3GD), the newcomer has some advantages. In particular, it is known that the graphic adapter is based on the graphics chip Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition that is selected. The clock frequency of the accelerator is increased from 1000/5500 MHz (core / memory) to the 1100/6000 MHz, comparing GV-797OC-3GD. Standard values, recall — 925 MHz GPU with chip and 5500 MHz with GDDR5 microchip.



Externally the video adapter has no changes: the PCB soldered 3 GB of memory, which combines with the GPU on a 384-bit brace. The number of stream processors is unchanged — 2048 units. The Thermaltake Company has announced a new Core X71 version of chassis. This solution is called Tempered Glass Edition and is produced in black colour.



One of the novelty’s panels possesses a window out of 4 mm tempered glass instead of the formerly used acrylic panel.


Due to its dual-chamber structure the chassis has much of the inner space, which allows to assemble a PC of almost any complexity with the liquid cooling system utilization.

Motherboards of Mini ITX, Micro ATX and ATX typical sizes can be installed. The maximum number of expansion cards is eight. One can use discrete graphics accelerators of up to 420 mm length.


In the front part of this product, there is enough room to mount a 480 mm heatsink, and it’s possible to install a 360 mm heat dissipator at the top. The preassembled power supply unit length equals to 220 mm.
