The Ultra-Wide Brilliance 492P8 Monitor from Philips

Half a year ago Philips announced an ultra-wide Brilliance 492P8 monitor. However, the product was slightly upgraded on its way to the market. Instead of the 49-inch VA matrix with the 3840x1080 pixels resolution (32:9 aspect ratio) the specialty obtained the 49-inch panel with the 5120x1440 resolution.
 
Other specifications were left without modifications. Thus, Philips Brilliance 492P8 features the 1,800 mm curvature radius, the 5000:1 static contrast, the 600 cd/m² maximum brightness, and 178° viewing angles (horizontally and vertically). The PC can be connected via HDMI, DisplayPort and D-Sub ports. The back panel contains the USB-C, USB 3.0 ports and a gigabit network interface.
 
Customers may expect the release of Philips Brilliance 492P8 in the final quarter this year. The recommended price is kept in secrecy and it is unclear how will the matrix upgrade influence the display’s price. Initially this device was to hit the shelves in the Q2 at 900 EUR.
