Biostar Unveils Specifications of A55MLV Motherboard

Biostar has given its new motherboard A55MLV certain prominence, unveiling its main specifications on the official website. Relying on the claimed data, a new product is developed in micro-ATX form factor and is targeted primarily at compact desktops applied in home and office systems. Biostar A55MLV is based on AMD A55 system logics and accommodates Socket FM1 to be compatible with a number of high-end processors. It supports the following APUs from AMD which TDP level does not exceed 100W: E2, A4, A6 and A8 series. This motherboard contains two DIMM slots that support up to 16GB of DDR3 memory type (800, 1066, 1333, 1600, 1866), operating at one-channel or two-channel modes.

VivoPC X by ASUS Is a Small Desktop for Newbies Among VR-Gamers

The VivoPC X desktop computer by ASUS is not bigger than an Xbox One and weighs approximately 2.3 kg only, however, it’s a fully-featured PC, operated by Windows 10 and supporting VR. At the same time, it’s worth admitting, that the hardware is intended rather for beginners than for old hands at the game.



ASUS VivoPC X is equipped with a Kaby Lake Intel Core i5 CPU, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card and 8 GB of RAM memory. The 512 GB SSD is used for data storage, and the connectivity possibilities are provided by four USB 3.1 and two USB 2.0 ports. In addition, this novelty features 802.11ac Wi-Fi, the Gigabit Ethernet, two HDMI ports and a DisplayPort with the NVIDIA G-Sync technology support.

Qualcomm to Enter Into Contract with GlobalFoundries

Qualcomm, a world-known provider of chips for mobile gadgets, has entered into a contract with GlobalFoundries company with the intention to develop chips based on 28 nm technology. Such information has been voiced by an authoritative Chinese publication Commercial Times, referring to the reliable sources. It is presupposed that the manufacturer will start the first dispatches for Qualcomm in the end of this year. The previously voiced data claimed that Qualcomm had arranged orders of 28 nm chips from UMC with the similar dispatch dates.



The estimated reason for the cooperation with GlobalFoundries is the insufficient delivery of 28 nm chips by TSMC. Moreover, Nvidia is supposedly targeting at the cooperation with one more manufacturer except for the TSMC as well.
