Iiyama Unveils a New 23-Inch ProLite X2382HS Monitor

Iiyama, a renowned Japanese manufacturer of visual solutions, is going to introduce a fresh PC monitor, entitled ProLite X2382HS. The product is based on a prime-quality IPS array that ensures high resolution of 1920x1080 pixels (Full HD). The new-comer is characterized by a stylish design with glossy components and a steady-state display stand. It features 548.5x213.5x388.5 mm dimensions.

Voltage surges in the mains supply or sudden power failure – the most common causes of data loss and malfunction of the PC. To prevent such an occasion helps an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) – automatic device that provides connected equipment with uninterrupted power supply. In order for the source to work effectively with a PC, it is necessary before operating to download driver for UPS.

All the UPS market can be divided into 3 types, depending on internal devices: Standby, Line-Interactive and On-Line.

Model type Standby represent a surge protector with a battery and a voltage Converter. When the network voltage is available, the computer runs directly from the mains and the rectifier recharges the UPS. In the event of a power surge, or lack thereof, the device triggers a switch that activates the inverter, which in turn begins to feed the PC from the battery.

The advantages of models are Standby , and the ability to provide equipment with the additional power from three to twenty-five minutes after a power failure. The main drawback of such solutions is the sharp switching of power to the battery even at low voltage, which reduces the service life of the device.

UPS type Line-Interactive (line-interactive) are more efficient in unstable networks. Their hardware uses automatic voltage controllers (eng. AVR – automatic voltage control), which switches the PC to battery power in case of a large surge when voltage deviations or sudden loss of power. Moreover, this type of device is perfect for a large number of users, if you download a driver for UPS and perform fine tuning of the device.

The third type of uninterruptible power supply is designed for professional use. The basis of On-Line models of a dual power Converter and a complex scheme of interaction of the power transformer, voltage rectifier and inverter. The main difference between On-Line UPS from the above two devices – in a few milliseconds delay when switching from mains power to battery. Because PC is always connected to the inverter, the delay of the power switching does not happen.
