HIS Teases New Radeon R9 280X IceQ Boost Clock Graphics Card

HIS is glad to introduce one more high-end solution: the Radeon R9 280X IceQ Boost Clock graphics card that is targeting high-performance PC systems. The model employs turbine-type cooling system with a branded IceQ cooler. It consists of a voluminous copper base (35x28 mm), an aluminum heatsink, four nickel-plated heat-pipes (2x 8 mm and 2x 6 mm), as well as a single 80 mm turbine fan. Such cooling is ideal for multi-GPU configurations in AMD CrossFireX mode, since the distance between adapters does not influence the efficiency of their fans.



The new-comer is based on AMD Radeon R9 280X GPU (28 nm, GCN) with 2048 stream processors. It runs at standard frequencies: 850 MHz – nominal and 1000 MHz – dynamic. Memory is introduced by 3 GB GDDR5 modules, which run at standard 1500 MHz frequencies and reach some 6000 MHz effective index.

The EVGA H370 Stinger Mother Card Is Suited for In-Home Media Hubs and Gaming Desktops

The American EVGA Co. is going to launch shipments of the H370 Stinger motherboard, performed in the Mini-ITX form factor with the dimensions being 170 × 170 mm. The novelty is compatible with the Intel Coffee Lake-S (LGA 1151) processors and, according to the manufacturer’s words, should form a base of a compact gaming system or an HTPC.

 

This specialty is built on the Intel H370 Express logic set. There are two slots for the DDR4-2667 RAM modules (total capacity is 32 GB). Four standard Serial ATA 3.0 ports allow hooking up drivers. Besides, the device has an М.2 connector for a solid-state module and supports the Intel Optane memory. H370 Stinger is supplied with the network Ethernet controller, Wi-Fi (2.4/5 GHz) and Bluetooth 4.2 wireless adapters, and with a 7.1 audio codec. The PCIe x16 slot is intended for a discrete graphics accelerator.

Gigabyte Launches Small-Sized GA-ABN350N-Gaming WiFi Mainboard

Gigabyte Technology adds another mainboard to its inventory: this time it’s GA-ABN350N-Gaming WiFi model, designed in Mini-ITX form-factor. The greenhorn is compatible with AMD AM4 platform as well as APU Raven Ridge provided that UEFI firmware is updated. It houses AMD B350 chipset that is eligible for overclocking.



Gigabyte GA-ABN350N-Gaming WiFi accommodates a 6-phase VRM system, allowing to install up to 32 GB of DDR4-3200 MHz memory modules. Expansion facilities are backed by a single PCIe 3.0 x16 bus, whereas storage subsystem is represented by four SATA III ports & one M.2 slot.


Furthermore, the back panel features a pair of USB 3.1 Gen2 ports, four USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, in addition to DisplayPort & HDMI video outputs. Network facilities are supported by Bluetooth 4.2 and Wi-Fi 802.11 adapters; besides, there is a wired gigabit controller, developed by Realtek.
