Gigabyte expands its line of gaming products with a new ATX motherboard, entitled GA-Z170X Gaming 3. The key peculiarity ascribed to the model is the support for the latest Intel Skylake-S CPU (14 nm) with LGA 1151 socket. The new-comer takes Intel Z170 chipset as the basis and draws power via 24-pin ATX as well as 8-pin EPS power sockets. Besides, the board belongs to the mainstream customer segment, so its price won’t go higher than $188.
Gigabyte GA-Z170X Gaming 3 is furnished with 7-phase VRM, four slots for DDR4-3400 MHz RAM (two-channel) of up to 64 GB capacity, a pair of PCIe 3.0 x16 slots for the installation of graphics cards (support for CrossFireX and SLI configurations), a single PCIe 3.0 x4 slot, and three PCIe 3.0 x1 slots.
Storage subsystem might be organized due to six SATA III ports (bandwidth – 6 Gb/sec), three SATA Express ports (bandwidth – up to 16 Gb/sec), and a couple of M.2 slots with bandwidth index up to 32 Gb/sec.
