SilverStone Debuts with a Tiny PC Case PT13

SilverStone announces the release of a new PC case from Petit series that is intended for Thin mini-ITX platforms only. Entitled PT13, the new-comer is differentiated by truly tiny dimensions of 186x182x42 mm. Its framework consists of a steel chassis and an aluminum flip-up cover.

The possibility to utilize the case as in horizontal so in vertical positions is thought to be the major peculiarity of PT13. Additionally, the case might be fixed to the rear facet of the monitor, due to the availability of a dedicated VESA bracket. The company estimated the price for the model at $59.

SilverStone PT13 supports the installation of a single HDD or SSD of 2.5-inch form-factor. In regards to the supported motherboards, their list involves models from Intel (DH61AGL, DQ77KB), ASRock (H61TM-ITX, Z77TM-ITX, B75TM-ITX, H77TM-ITX), and Gigabyte (GA-H61TN, GA-H77TN). The maximal height of the supported CPU coolers might not exceed the margin of 19 mm. Unfortunately, expansion slots are not stipulated by the manufacturer; thus, the customers will have to revel in the incorporated into CPU graphics.

To continue, there is also no place for the internal power supply unit, so it’s necessary to employ an external model. Memory might be introduced by SO-DIMM modules of DDR3 type. All compatible with PT13 processors are characterized by an enhanced power efficiency and, as a result, lack of overclocking potential. The rear part of the case houses a pair of sockets for the connection of Wi-Fi module. The frontal panel accommodates a pair of USB 2.0 ports only.

Ease of assembling the system is viewed as the major privilege of PT13 case. Its flip-up cover provides for a hassle-free installation of the motherboard, without any tools or supplementary means. Moreover, compact dimensions allow for its localization in any suitable place.
