Nevertheless, Icy Dock decided to stand out against the background of others and introduced its HDD-box codenamed MB080U3S-1SB Blizzard. It seems that the manufacturer went beyond the realism and created a really futuristic dock for hard drives: instead of standard square shape Icy Dock made diamond-shaped detachable clipboard.



The dock is made of metal and plastic, and goes totally in black color. The clipboard covers 80 mm fan which is called to cool down even hot drives. Currently the Seagate Exos X hard disk drives family contains of two models – the 10 TB Seagate Exos X10 and the 12 TB Seagate Exos X12. These products are constructed for data centres and cloud storages. During the OCP U.S. Summit 2018 event the American manufacturer has introduced its new top-rated HDD of the series mentioned, called Seagate Exos X14. The capacity of the device is 14 TB.



The specialty is produced in a regular 3.5-inch form factor with the PMR (Perpendicular Magnetic Recording) technology applied. Supposedly, the novelty is built on the latest platform utilizing nine 1.55 TB platters. However, this information has not come from the vendor. The spindle rotates at 7,200 rpm.
