MSI has replenished its series of Radeon HD 7950 graphics cards with a pair of new Boost Edition models. Codenamed R7950-3GD5 BE and R7950-3GD5/OC BE, both adapters feature practically identical to the first two releases (of the very series) design. Nonetheless, the novels are known to support AMD ZeroCore with Boost technology that provides for an automatic GPU clock frequency boost on conditions of an increased computing loading. Dynamic clock frequency indices of both models are not so dramatic, since they exceed the nominal showings at 10 MHz only; still, the support of a brand MSI Afterburner utility enables a raise of frequencies to the required level. These power supplies are already being involved into European retail. They go for about 40–67 EUR depending on the model (the series includes 80 Plus Bronze certified products of 400, 500, 600 and 700 W capacity, equipped with nondetachable cables).
Gigabyte has intrigued its fans by the design of an unusual videocard – the GeForce GTX 970 (GV-N970TTOC-4GD). It is based on Nvidia GM-204-200-A1 GPU (Maxwell) but with overclocked frequencies. The core operates at 1101 MHz/1241 MHz instead of etalon 1050 MHz/1178 MHz. The GPU is accompanied with 4 GB of GDDR5 memory (256-bit bus) that runs at 7010 MHz efficient clock frequency.
