LG Electronics broadens its displays model range with the 27UK650-W sample, built on the base of the 27-inch IPS panel with the 3840 x 2160 pixels (4K UHD) resolution. The specialty is not claimed to be a gaming solution, however, it can easily perform this function, while supporting AMD FreeSync and several brand technologies, applied solely for gaming purposes. Particularly, one should distinguish the HDR10 standard support.

 

LG 27UK650-W key specs are quite typical for 4K displays with IPS matrix: the 350 cd/m², the 1000:1 contrast, the 5 ms (GtG) response time, the 99% coverage of the sRGB colour gamut and the 60 Hz refresh rate. Last year Western Digital presented the record-breaking 12 TB HGST Ultrastar He12 HDD. It had to be followed by the 14 TB model of the same series, however, we are still waiting for that. In the meanwhile, Toshiba is planning to release such a sample soon.



The 14 TB novelty is expected to be announced by the end of the year. Key specifications (like the platter count and the interface used) are not reported yet. We just may assume that the SATA standard will be applied.


Presumably, the specialty by Toshiba will be filled with helium, being seven times less dense, than air. This will greatly diminish turbulence, produced by platters rotation, power consumption and the inside temperature.


Unfortunately, the 14 TB estimated price is unveiled up to this time. And finally, we should note, that early in the year the Seagate company mentioned its intentions to manufacture the 18 TB HDD in a year and a half.

XFX is about to release an exclusive graphics card, devoted to the Eastern New Year festivities. Codenamed FX 7750 Monster, this model will firstly appear in the Chinese market at about $128.
