Apacer Launches Memory Cards of SD and CF Format

Apacer Technology, world-known manufacturer of digital storage devices and memory cards, has introduced in a stately manner its latest ‘creations’, memory cards of SD and CF format, codenamed SD-M and CompactFlash5. The key feature of new products is the extended temperature range which allows the cards to show good operability under conditions of low temperatures (from -40 degrees centigrade) up to extremely high temperatures (to +85 degrees centigrade). The applied technology promoted for the expansion of these memory cards to a variety of areas, including aviation, military and automotive electronics.

According to the words of Apacer’s representatives, their memory cards are full-blown solid state drives with SD and CF interfaces. SD-M and CompactFlash5 are based on MLC NAND flash memory.

Memory cards with SD interface support SD 2.0 and Class 10 specifications, and will go in four volume capacity variants: 4, 8, 16, and 32 GB. Those cards are known to develop …

KingFast Showcases K25 SSD for Data Caching Activity

KingFast, a Chinese developer and supplier of high-end SSD solutions, decided to present quite a new approach in data caching by releasing a dedicated solid-state drive version. Model K25 Ultra-Cache is designed in 2.5-inch form-factor and is basically destined to fulfill various data caching procedures on availability of a slack HDD that can't cope with caching efficiently. In other words, this drive will add the required speed to the PC in which OS is installed on a traditional HDD. The most beneficial thing is that the customer won't have to deinstall OS in order to enhance the system by K25 Ultra-Cache.

This drive is equipped with 32GB of NAND MLC flash-memory and employs SATA 3Gb/sec interface. It should be mentioned that caching option is realized by means of a pre-installed Nvelo DataPlex program that facilitates all processes. The estimated consecutive Read speed achieves the margin of 270MB/sec, while consecutive Write speed is recorded at 190MB/sec.

Meeting New Gaming Memory Kits AMD Radeon RG2133

A couple of days ago AMD introduced a new series of DDR3 memory kits within the boundaries of AMD Unified Gaming Strategy development. Codenamed AMD Radeon RG2133, the new-comers are available in two- and four-channel kits, the overall capacity of which equals to 16 GB and 32 GB correspondingly. The most striking feature is that they can be employed as on AMD, so on Intel platforms, supporting AMD AMP and Intel XMP technologies for improved settings optimization.

The other peculiarity is that these memory kits run at 2133 MHz frequency. On such conditions there is always a chance to dramatically increase the system performance up to 22% (with APU AMD A10 on board). Herewith, voltage index equals to 1.65 V, while latency index looks the following way: 10-11-11-30. Memory chips are cooled down by the forces of a high-quality aluminum heatspreader. Its design is called to ensure a stable operation in response to the increased frequencies.

There is one more advantageous …
