ARM Readies Cortex-A72 and Mali-T880 for Mobile Devices

ARM has just announced a series of solutions for the upcoming next-generation mobile SoC. The most notable developments are Cortex-A72 processor and Mali-T880 graphics. According to the manufacturer, both components will be interconnected within SoC by means of CoreLink – CCI-500. The launch of new items is scheduled for 2016. Rockchip, MediaTek and HiSilicon are among the companies to integrate both elaborations into their products.



It should be noted that Cortex- A72 is a successor of Cortex-A57, taking analogous 64-bit operations but demonstrating three times higher performance. The new-comer will be designed under 16 nm FinFET+ technological process. Its layout corresponds to big.LITTLE framework requirements; this promotes for its combination with other ARM cores.

Apacer Intros Two Dual-Channel Memory Sets – Commando DDR4-3600 и DDR4-3466

The Apacer has introduced its latest RAM memory sets, which replenished the Commando DDR4 series, aimed at assembling gaming desktop computers. It’s worth remembering, that at present the Commando DDR4 line includes devices with the 2,400, 2,666 and 2,800 MHz frequencies, operating at 1.2 V. Besides, the vendor has demonstrated the solutions featuring the 3,000 and 3,200 MHz frequencies and the 1.35 V voltage.

 

The kits presented got the following names: DDR4-3600 and DDR4-3466. The first variant has the 17-19-19-39 timings, the second — 16-18-18-36. Voltage supply claimed is 1.35 V. Galaxy Microsystems Releases Two New Graphics Cards, Based on NVIDIA Pascal – KFA2 GeForce GTX 1080 EXOC Sniper White and GTX 1070 EXOC Sniper White

The two novelties by Galaxy Microsystems – GeForce GTX 1080 EXOC Sniper White and GTX 1070 EXOC Sniper White – are highlighted not only due to their white colouring, but also due to their non-reference cooler and PC-board design, to the factory overclocking and to the LED-backlighting of fans and the aluminium back plate.



These specialties are equipped with a two-slot cooler possessing several copper nickel-plated heat pipes. There are two memory chip life wires and an 8-pin and a 6-pin PCI-E Power connectors.

The main cooling system contains an aluminium heat dissipator for VRM transistors and a pair of 100 mm fans.


Based on the GP104-400 chip, the top-of-the-line model operates 2,560 streaming processors, 160 TMUs, 64 rendering blocks and 256-bit line, which works together with the 8 GB GDDR5X RAM. The KFA2 GeForce GTX 1080 EXOC Sniper White frequency formula looks like 1,657–1,797/1,250(10,000) MHz for the core and memory respectively.
