Aspire GX-281 – the First Ryzen-Operated Desktop by Acer

The Acer Co. has replenished its product range with the first Ryzen-operated desktop. The vendor has called its latest PC Aspire GX-281. This model is performed in several versions and costs at least $800.



The Acer novelty can be based either on Ryzen 5 1400 or Ryzen 5 1600 CPU. In all cases gaming experience is supported by GeForce GTX 1050, thus, the PC belongs to the initial class of gaming models.


RAM capacity can vary from 8 to 64 GB, and data can be stored on the 1 TB HDD. Some modifications also presuppose the presence of the 256 GB SSD.


The interface set includes five USB 2.0, three USB-C 3.1, Gigabit Ethernet connectors, as well as audio jacks. One can also utilize a card reader, a Wi-Fi adapter and an integrated Qi wireless charging. The desktop is supplied with a mouse and a keyboard.


We should note, that a few resources assume the launch of samples with more effective CPU (up to Ryzen 7 1700X) and 3D-cards (up to GeForce GTX 1070).

Asus Reveals Its XG Station Pro Docking Station for an External Graphics Card

On the threshold of CES 2018 exhibition opening the Asus company announces a number of specialties анонсировала ряд новинок, among which one may notice a new docking station for an external graphics card connection. The device is called XG Station Pro.

 

The outer appearance belongs to the minimalistic style. The aluminium (in its most part) framework is equipped with two 120 mm fans with removable dust filters. There is enough space for one flagship 3D accelerator with the massive cooling system, taking 2.5 slots area. To make the process of video card installing more convenient the manufacturer has produced this device with two (side and upper) dismountable panels.

 

The video accelerator is powered from an EPU of the 330 W capacity, which is supposed to be quite enough for any 3D card. The Thunderbolt 3 interface and a suitable cable 1.5 m long allow linking this device to a PC or a laptop.
