
I-O Data, an all-around PC hardware developer, strikes the market with the launch of a new NAS series, targeting mainly corporate clients. Codenamed HDL-Z6WL6C2, it comprises four models with identical dimensions (260x235x180 mm, 9.6 kg) but different capacity: 6 TB, 12 TB, 18 TB, and 24 TB. In order to get such spacious network storages, businesses and individual customers will have to loosen purse-strings at the starting price tag of $3200.
The HDL-Z6WL6C2 employ the selected WD Red hard drives, which are bundled into RAID 0, 5 arrays. The models’ framework enables the installation of up to four removable drives; all of them support ‘hot-swapping’ options for a trouble-free replacement. All management processes are realized due to the incorporation of a 64-bit Windows Storage Server 2012 R2 OS.
