Meet the 2nd Generation of Maximus 2 Platform from Nvidia

Last November Nvidia 'shattered' the IT market with its Maximus platform. Currently, the company is officially presenting the second generation of the platform – Maximus 2. The new platform is based on the advanced GPUs which employ Kepler architecture. The major task assigned to the Maximus 2 is to provide an unmatched performance and efficiency in quite different spheres of enterprise, starting from computer graphics and finishing with oil industry. Besides, it has got improved facilities of virtualization and analyzing activities.



According to the data claimed by the manufacturer, workstations developed on Maximus 2 platform will be put into sale already this December. It is already known that there are a number of companies that will employ Nvidia Maximus 2 in their product lines. Hence, such companies as Dell, HP, Lenovo, Supermicro, and BOXX technologies will introduce their workstations based on this platform.

Galaxy Unveils a Shortened Version of GeForce GTX 760 Adapter

Galaxy Microsystems, a reliable partner of Nvidia, has recently unveiled its own, shortened version of GTX 760 graphics adapter. Codenamed Galaxy GeForce GTX 760 GC Mini, the card employs a reference GK104 GPU (28 nm), but is differentiated by an original PCB and a factory overclocking. The implemented circuit board features 193 mm length dimensions and is elaborated on a blue textolite.



The new-comer is furnished with 1152 CUDA cores that run at 1019 MHz but can be overclocked up to 1084 MHz. Video subsystem is introduced by GDDR5 modules with 256-bit interface. The overall capacity of modules makes up 2 GB. The GDDR5 demonstrates rather striking performance, considering the card’s middle-end destination: the modules are able to gain 6008 MHz clock frequency.

Colorful Amazes the Public by a One-Slot iGame Graphics Card

Colorful, a Chinese developer of graphics solutions, unveils some details about its new graphics card, codenamed iGame GTX 650 Ti Buri-Slim. The most peculiar thing about this card is that it takes only one slot within a PC case, if compared with similar models from other manufacturers. The model's design resembles the one implemented in a 2011 release (iGame GTS 450 Buri-Slim).



Colorful iGame GTX 650 Ti Buri-Slim is based on a non-reference printed circuit board; the latter is a bit longer than reference GTX 650 Ti. Hardware base deserves special attention, since it's been given a note of originality, despite being a part of the entry-level adapter. Instead of traditional solid-state capacitors Colorful implemented POSCAP capacitors. Power subsystem is organized according to 3+1 template; it employs high-efficiency transistors designed by ON Semiconductor.
