Hence, HGST, an affiliate company of Western Digital, decided to comply with the corporate demands by introducing budgetary hard drives entitled Ultrastar C10K1800. The new-comers are targeting exactly DPC-systems which are in need of high performance combined with fail-safe behavior.



HGST Ultrastar C10K1800 drives feature 2.5-inch form-factor and come in diverse capacity variations (from 300 GB to 1.8 TB). The models employ SAS interface with 12 Gb/sec throughput. It should be noted that designers involved the minimal amount of plates on the maximal possible tape density. The latter are thought to rotate with 10.520 RPM.

Biostar has recently introduced its new series of motherboards, codenamed Biostar TZ77B, and is currently starting mass delivery of them to the market. TZ77B model is developed on Intel Z77 logics kit and goes in ATX form-factor. Manufacturers claim that the new series is able to ensure high performance and stability of operation at moderate price. These motherboards support all LGA1155 processors Intel Core (i3, i5 and i7) of the 2nd and 3rd generation.



Powerful graphics core DirectX 11, integrated into Intel Core processors (of the third generation), enables the compatibility with the majority of up-dated 3D games and HDMI 3D Visual technology. Video output is realized via digital HDMI, VGA (analogue), and DVI (with HDCP technology) interfaces. A short while ago the French Canard PC Hardware magazine has reported, that Intel is going to give fitting reply to AMD Ryzen pilot projects and plans to release two new Kaby Lake-S CPUs.



The first processor is expected to be launched under the Intel Core i7-7740K codename. It will get four compute cores with Hyper-Threading support, 8 MB of tertiary memory cache, unlocked multiplier and the 100 W basic TDP rate. Operating frequencies will lie in the range of 4.3–4.6 GHz in the Turbo Boost mode.


The second specialty is Core i5-7640K with four cores and 4–4.4 frequency of operation. It also features 6 MB of L3 cache, 100 W TDP and the support of Hyper-Threading technology, though we can’t be sure as for the last-named specification. One should admit, that heretofore only the Intel Core i7 line offered multithreading in its 4-core desktop processors.
