Greeting Small-Sized J1800I Motherboard from MSI

MSI has recently added J1800I model to its mini-ITX motherboards inventory. The new-comer features 170x170 mm dimensions and is characterized by a low power consumption level. This makes it a desirable acquirement for builders of small-sized, power-efficient PC systems and multimedia devices. The board boasts Military Class 4 design that involves high-quality hardware components, including Dark Chokes and solid-state capacitors.

MSI J1800I is based on Intel Celeron J1800 CPU (22 nm) that runs at 2.41 GHz frequency but might be overclocked to 2.58 GHz. It consumes only 10 W power, being cooled down by a single aluminum heatsink. The PCB accommodates two SO-DIMM slots for two-channel DDR3 memory modules with the maximum frequency of 1333 MHz and the maximum capacity of 8 GB.

To continue, the hardware inventory embraces two SATA II 3 Gb/sec ports for the connection of drives. The availability of one PCI Express 2.0 x 1 slot enables the connection of a supplementary expansion card. Video facilities are secured by powers of an integrated graphics core, whereas audio facilities are secured due to HD Realtek ALC887 codec.

It should be underlined that the incorporation of HDMI 1.4a video interface provides for the transferring of not merely 4K Ultra HD video but also 7.1-channel sounding. Access to the wired network is provided by Realtek RTL8111G controller. A set of external interfaces includes two PS/2 ports, three audio mini-jacks, one RJ-45, two USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0 port, one DVI-D and one D-Sub port.

In addition, this motherboard supports Military Class Essentials technology that saves all hardware from humidity, electrostatic discharge, and other unfavorable conditions. In order to improve working experience with J1800I, the company adds TPM, COM and Clear CMOS buttons to the PCB design.
