MSI Cubi N 8 GL Mini PCs Obtained the Intel Gemini Lake Series Processors

Welcome the series of stylish compact mini PCs by MSI, named Cubi N 8 GL. As we may see from the name of this line, novelties hold Intel Gemini Lake processing units inside. To be exact, we are talking about Intel Celeron J4005 (2/2 x 2.0–2.7 GHz) and Intel Pentium Silver J5005 (4/4 х 1.5–2.8 GHz) with Intel UHD Graphics 600 (12 x 250–700 MHz) and Intel UHD Graphics 605 (18 х 250–800 MHz) embedded graphics adapters.

 

The RAM subsystem is represented by one SO-DIMM slot supporting maximum 8 GB of DDR4-2400, which means there’s no way to establish a dual-channel mode. The Thermaltake View 22 Tempered Glass Edition Chassis Has Got a Wave-Shaped Front Panel

Thermaltake has released a new chassis of the Middle Tower type. The novelty, called Thermaltake View 22 Tempered Glass Edition, is produced out of the SPCC steel and the 4 mm tempered glass. An unusual aspect of the model is its front panel, resembling a wave and attaching extra elegance to this PC case.

 

Inside Thermaltake View 22 Tempered Glass Edition has enough room to house Mini-ITX, microATX or ATX motherboards with 7 expansion slots (at most). There are four mounting seats for 2.5-inch drives; two of them are also suitable for 3.5-inch solutions. The graphics accelerator length is not to overcome 400 mm, and the CPU cooler’s height should be 160 mm or less. The power supply length limitation equals 160 mm.

IBM, Intel, AMD, Cray, HPE and NVIDIA Have Been Awarded a Grant for Exaflop Supercomputer Development

The most effective supercomputer is launched in China today. The system, called Sunway TaihuLight, operates locally developed processors. The ultimate Sunway TaihuLight productivity is 125 petaflops. In 2020 China plans to generate the first system in the world with a capacity overcoming one exaflops. At present the USA stays behind, however American supercomputers’ energy performance is significantly higher.



The US Department of Energy has established a $258 million grant for cost effective exaflop supermachines construction. Six American companies (IBM, Intel, AMD, Cray, HPE and NVIDIA) won it. Now they are to create an architecture, able to consume 25–30 MW at one exaflop productiveness. Such a system’s deployment is to take place in 2021. Apart from funds committed, each member company of the Exascale Computing Project program will put up its own means, constituting around 40% of DOE’s funds.
