Within the Framework of OCP U.S. Summit 2018 Seagate Technology Introduces the 14 TB Seagate Exos X14 HDD

Currently the Seagate Exos X hard disk drives family contains of two models – the 10 TB Seagate Exos X10 and the 12 TB Seagate Exos X12. These products are constructed for data centres and cloud storages. During the OCP U.S. Summit 2018 event the American manufacturer has introduced its new top-rated HDD of the series mentioned, called Seagate Exos X14. The capacity of the device is 14 TB.



The specialty is produced in a regular 3.5-inch form factor with the PMR (Perpendicular Magnetic Recording) technology applied. Supposedly, the novelty is built on the latest platform utilizing nine 1.55 TB platters. However, this information has not come from the vendor. The spindle rotates at 7,200 rpm.

Chieftec Navitas Gets a 450-Watt Update

First launched in 2013, Chieftec Navitas series of PSUs included five high-efficiency models of up to 1250 W power. This year the company has introduced four new editions to the family which are characterized by low power: 450 W, 550 W, 650 W, and 750 W. This update is called to satisfy the needs of unpretentious customers who require stability rather than records.



New Chieftec Navitas power supply units come equipped with a single +12V bus that covers 100% power. Hence, it’s possible to integrate the models into the latest system configurations. All of them correspond to 80 Plus Gold standard, achieving up to 87% efficiency in a wide range of operational conditions.


Their other peculiarities involve a fully modular cable system, the availability of a low-noise 120 mm fan, the support for Active PFC technology and all known protection features (i.e. OPP, OTP, UVP, OVP, SCP).

Iiyama Launches X4070UHS Monitor with an Unusual Base

Iiyama Corp. is not used to sit idly, delivering ever newer visual solutions. This time the company launches a 39.5-inch PC monitor with a nontrivial stand. The ProLite X4070UHS model rests on two demountable racks, instead of a single central column. Nevertheless, the display supports well-loved facilities, such as Picture-in-Picture mode and POP (split of the screen into four windows). It features a pure black case and a high gloss screen coating.



Iiyama X4070UHS is based on MVA panel with LED backlight. It is thought to support Ultra HD/4K resolution (3840x2160 pixels) as well as 5000:1 static contrast. Besides, the model ensures 350 cd/m2 brightness, the display of 16.7 million colors, the widest possible viewing angles (178/178 degrees in both aspects), and ultrafast response time – 4 ms (GtG environment).
