
Kingston, an outstanding developer of various data storage solutions, has recently introduced a new series of solid-state drives intended for enterprise use. Entitled SSDNow E50, the products feature a standard 2.5-inch design and are available in three capacities: 100 GB, 240 GB and 480 GB correspondingly. The new-comer employs SATA III 6 Gb/sec interface and MLC NAND synchronous flash-memory.
Kingston SSDNow E50 takes LSI SandForce-SF2581 controller as the basis. It ensures rather high performance showings. With the purpose to guarantee a stable operation of the drives, to minimize data transfer errors and reduce the cell wear, the manufacturer furnished the models with DuraClass, DuraWrite, S.M.A.R.T., and RAISE technologies. As a result, Mean Time between Failures is estimated as 1.000.000 hours.
