Shuttle, an eminent Taiwanese developer of mini-PCs and barebone-systems, replenishes its production line with a new NAS, entitled Omninas KD22. The storage features a stylish, solid aluminum case, painted in white, and a large blue button that is responsible for the hot swapping of the drives. Generally, the case can accommodate a pair of 3.5-inch (or 2.5-inch) SATA drives, which support such configurations as JBOD and RAID 0/1.



The heart of Omninas KD22 is Marvell 88F6707 processor that runs at 1.2 GHz. The storage is furnished with 512 MB RAM and might offer up to 8TB of disc space. Being primarily a network-attached storage, the product is able to serve as a media-server as well, supporting iTunes, DLNA, BT, FTP server and print server. The Californian water cooling systems components manufacturer – Swiftech – has unveiled the release of the CPU waterblock, called Apogee SKF.

 

This cooler is compatible with up-to-date platforms from Intel and AMD. The list of processors supported includes Intel LGA 115x, LGA20xx, AMD AM2, AM3 and AM4. Besides, the version for AMD Ryzen Threadripper CPUs will have been released by the end of the month. The Versa line of Thermaltake chassis has been extended by the Versa N27 Mid-Tower model, designed either in black (Versa N27 namely) or in white and black (Versa N27 Snow Edition). The code names of these products are CA-1H6-00M1WN-00 and CA-1H6-00M6WN-00 respectively.



The new PC cases by Thermaltake offer mounting seats for a Mini-ITX, Micro-ATX or ATX mother board, 7 PCI/PCI Express expansion cards, ATX-compatible power supply unit, a 160 mm CPU cooler, up to four 3.5” HDD or five 2.5” SSD. The graphics card length restriction is 250 mm.


Two out of five NAND flash memory based drives are located in other than basic sectors – behind the mother board tray and on the supply unit cover. The latter is supposed to be optional. The supply kit contains one 120 mm fan on the back panel. In total there is enough space for at least 5 fans.
