First SSDs from Asus to be Released Already in May

First seen at CES 2013 exhibition, Asus ROG RAIDR solid-state drives are on their final stage of development before an official release in May. Unlike the majority of contemporary SSD solutions in the market, the product from Asus features quite distinct form-factor, similar to expansion cards. The new drive is known to employ PCI Express 2.0 x2 interface with the support of x16/x8/x4 slots.



According to the preliminary data, ROG RAIDR solid-state drives will be available in two capacity variations – 120 GB and 240 GB. Both models will run under a couple of SandForce SF2281 controllers, comprised into RAID 0 array. MLC NAND flash-memory chips from Toshiba (designed under 19 nm technological process) will be the heart of revolutionary SSDs. Irrespective of the overall differentiation, ROG RAIDR will support a range of technologies traditional SSDs support, including S.M.A.R.T., TRIM and NCQ.

New Eisblock XPX Water Units by AlphaCool

Transfer efficiency of the thermal energy flux from the CPU to the cooling liquid in the circuit depends on the water unit. The AlphaCool Company, being famous for its liquid-cooling system components, has presented a new water units series, called Eisblock XPX. They’ll take the place of the previous model, NexXxoS XP3. The series of Eisblock XPX water blocks will be released on the market featuring various colour schemes, including the mountings colour. The manufacturer has taken into account the latest trends.



In new models the heat-exchange zone microchannel structure is refined: the fin spacing is reduced to 0.2 mm, and the fins number has grown up to 81. Thus, the heat-exchange area has become larger. The brand Ramp technology is applied to the heat-exchanger, which guarantees the absence of the coolant flow vorticity and its steady passing through the microchannels zone. EVGA GeForce GTX 660 Ti

Due to the unknown paparazzi the photos of the upcoming graphics card EVGA GeForce GTX 660 T leaked to the Internet. As it can be seen it is made almost on the reference design of Nvidia. The main differences of EVGA board from the reference — design of the casing of the cooling system, the logo on the fan housing and the clock frequency.



The video card is made on the printed circuit board on the PCI Express 3.0 x16 bus and is equipped with a proprietary dual-slot cooler of active type. Its «heart» is created on 28-nm chip with 1344 GK104 CUDA cores and advanced architecture Kepler. On board there is a 2048 MB of GDDR5 memory with 192-bit and a frequency of 6008 MHz. In fact, core graphics core frequency is 980 MHz, and accelerated by the NVIDIA GPU Boost function value is equal to 1023 MHz.
