WD Showcases My Cloud EX2 Home-Based NAS

Western Digital is ready to launch another representative of My Cloud series – the EX2 targeting home-based systems. This NAS might be characterized by an expanded functional and the availability of two drive bays. The user is free to choose between various models: without HDDs and with pre-installed WD Red drives of 4, 6, 8 TB overall capacity. The latter are already adjusted to operate in RAID 1 array to provide for an ultimate performance.



The WD My Cloud EX2 is an ideal solution for a wide spectrum of tasks. First of all, it might serve the needs of a file server, offering all connected desktop/mobile devices access towards the saved data. Dedicated WD My Cloud software ensures that all iOS and Android products could receive unimpeded access towards the data. Second of all, the model can be employed as a part of a home-based multimedia center; cooperating with DLNA/UPnP-compatible devices, the NAS secures a correct operation with Smart TV.

Silverstone Launches a New Product – the RL06 Chassis

The Silverstone Company is going to release its new product – the RL06 computer case. This relatively cost-effective model is mostly manufactured out of steel and plastic and possesses a plastic window on the side panel. It is represented in two colour variants: black with red and white with silver accents. The basic version is equipped with one 120 mm fan, and a Pro version – with 3 extra 120 mm LED-backlit fans.



The RL06 framework allows to mount ATX and Micro-ATX motherboards. The max length of the graphics adapter equals to 348 mm, and the ultimate CPU coolers height is 158 mm. Up to 7 expansion cards can be installed. Two 2.5” bays and three 3.5” drive bays are available. This Silverstone product features a pair of USB 3.0 ports, 2 USB 2.0 ports and audio jacks.


The RL06 chassis costs $80, weighs 6 kg and has the following dimensions: 200 х 477 х 455 mm.
