The First Glance at MSI X99S Gaming 9 ACK & Z97 Gaming 9 ACK Mainboards

MSI could not resist the temptation to officially introduce a pair of new gaming mainboards: the X99S Gaming 9 ACK and the Z97 Gaming 9 ACK. The key distinction of new-comers from analogue models without ‘ACK’ attribute lies in the implementation of dedicated gaming network controllers: Qualcomm Atheros Killer 1525 and Killer E2205. The first one is supposed to support 802.11 ac standard that guarantees 867 Mb/sec throughput bandwidth; it also ensures less data deference. This provides for a faster network traffic processing and, as a result, — for a huge advantage in online gaming.



The E-ATX MSI X99S Gaming 9 ACK motherboard is based on Intel X99 chipset, estimated for Intel Core i7-5000 CPUs with Socket LGA2011-v3. The Vertical NAS Qnap TS-453Bmini Solution Requires Less Space on Your Desktop

Qnap has launched delivery of a vertical NAS under the TS-453Bmini codename.



This storage offers four vertically arranged slots for 3.5” and 2.5” drives with SATA 6 Gbps interface, which significantly minimizes space, occupied by the device. You do not need a screwdriver to fix drivers in sleds. All sections are covered with a common upper lid. The R/W memory slot is located in the basic part of the framework.


One should also highlight the hot swap, RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10 arrays formation support and Intel AES-NI hardware encryption with a 256-bit key. The 4-core Celeron J3455 CPU features 4 or 8 GB of DDR3L RAM, distributed over 2 SO-DIMM slots.


The network part consists of two Gigabit Ethernet ports (which can be combined), one USB 2.0, four USB 3.0 ports and an HDMI video output. The 64-bit QTS 4.3 OS supports виртуализацию Linux, Windows, UNIX and Android virtualization, mail and contacts synchronization in a personal cloud.

The Specs of the Gigabyte Brix GB-EACE-3450 Compact PC Are Already Unveiled

Gigabyte has unveiled specifications of its Brix GB-EACE-3450 mini PC, however, the device is not on the market yet.



As distinct from many Brix series products, GB-EACE-3450 is anything but a gaming solution. It is based on the 14 nm Intel Celeron N3450 (Apollo Lake) processor and doesn’t have a discrete graphics core.

Ultimate RAM capacity of this compact PC comes up to 8 GB; and one can use M.2 SSD drives for storage. The cooling system is passive, so long as the case acts as a heat sink.


Brix GB-EACE-3450 offers many connectivity possibilities. Customers can use four USB 3.0 ports, two HDMI outputs, two Gigabit Ethernet and an audio jack. The presence of the RJ-45 port allows to connect RS232/422/485 through the help of adapter. Other highlights include wireless net adapters, a card reader, an inner slot for a cellular modem, three antennas and a VESA mounting bracket, which lets fix the mini PC behind a display.
