News about the forthcoming release of the updated motherboard Sabertooth 990FX was voiced by Asus earlier this year. Nevertheless, the release of long-awaited motherboard has been delayed till mid August, and these days the product can be already found in the market. Primarily, Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 is notable for the availability of OS Windows 8 conformance certificate.



The updated motherboard is compatible with AM3 and AM3+ processors and boasts a bunch of advanced solutions. Among the most striking innovations implemented by Asus, the substitute of old-fashioned JMicron JMB362 controller by a more progressive controller from ASMedia added to the board's functionality. In addition, the manufacturer supplemented the layout with one more ASMedia ASM1042 controller that allowed to integrate USB 3.0 interface. The Swiftech company, which produces liquid cooling system components, announced the full cover water block for the NVIDIA TITAN X video card market release. This new product was called Komodo NV-ECO GTX TITAN X, though, the “GTX” part is misplaced, as far as the actual card (unlike the old GM200 core TITAN X) on the GP102 chip doesn’t contain in its name the prefix GeForce GTX.



This cooler is produced out of C110 class chromed copper and acryl. The water unit dimensions are: 268(L) × 122(W) × 19(H) mm, weight — 1.247 kg.

There is a little protrusion in a contact plate according to the NVIDIA GP102 core shape, 0,5 mm thick thermal pads for heat rejection from power system transistors and GDDR5X memory chips. Note: Swiftech professionals have already inserted material lines, so users don’t have to do it themselves.

The Akasa vendor presented the Vegas R7 chassis fan, constructed primarily for gaming desktop computers.



This 120 mm cooling device is able to produce an air flow of 1 m3 per minute at the rotary velocity of 1,500 rpm. The noise factor specified doesn’t overcome 23.8 dBA. The fan is built on the FDB bearing and has special rubber damping pads, diminishing vibration. The lifespan reported equals 40,000 hours.


Vegas R7 is supplied with transparent blades and multicoloured LED RGB-backlighting. Being compatible with the ASUS Aura Sync, MSI Mystic Light Sync and Gigabyte RGB Fusion control technologies, it can be easily integrated into eye-catching desktop systems featuring the consistent operation scheme of components backlighting.


This 120 × 120 × 25 mm fan is linked via the 3-pin (power) and 4-pin (illumination) connectors.
