Samsung settles down to a large-scale production of LPDDR4 mobile memory chips. Elaborated according to 20 nm technological norms, the new-comers boast the integration of an advanced technology that ensures 8 Gb crystal density and twice the performance compared with LPDDR3 chips. Currently, the company produces models of 2 GB and 3 GB capacity, however in early 2015 it will set to the development of 4 GB solutions.



New LPDDR4 memory modules are targeting various mobile devices with thirst for lightning-fast data transfer speed. Gigabyte Intros a Nifty X299 Designare EX Motherboard

Gigabyte has enlarged its line of motherboards with a sleek model – the X299 Designare EX. The greenhorn is developed in ATX form-factor and boasts black-and-silver design. The reverse side of the PCB employs a single base plate. The heart of the item is Intel X299 chipset, compatible with HEDT CPUs (Intel Core X family) for Socket LGA2066.

 

Gigabyte X299 Designare EX is fitted with 8x DIMM slots for the installation of DDR4-4400 MHz RAM (up to 512 GB, if using buffered memory in 4-channel mode). The manufacturer has provided for 5x slots for the expansion cards (PCIe 3.0 x16); herewith, the amount of lanes and operational mode of sockets depend upon the chosen CPU. The model brags about an integrated Thunderbolt 3 controller.

OCZ Announces the Release of Agility4

OCZ company representatives have proudly announced the release of their new SSD child of Agility 4 series. Agility4 series embraces four models which correspond to the 64 GB, 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB volume capacity parameters. Agility4 developers claim that their new series is the balance of performance, speed and reliability at the same time.



The new series is based on Indilinx Everest 2 controller and is equipped with SATA III interface. SSD Agility4 is built on flash-memory chips of MLC NAND type which are destined to sustain up to 2 million hours of fail-proof operability. These chips support TRIM and SMART technologies and are sure to involve ECC option to monitor and remove all detected errors. The other peculiar feature of Agility4 SSDs is the availability of DRAM cache-memory of 1 GB volume capacity. In addition, SSDs have an integrated option of automatic encoding according to AES algorithm.
