SilverStone Comes Out with Precision PS12 Chassis

The lineup of tower cases developed by SilverStone has been replenished by a new price-efficient solution, entitled Precision PS12. The model features 405x360x170 mm dimensions and is ready to accommodate small-sized motherboards (mini-ITX, micro-ATX) as well as four expansion cards. The chassis is made of high-quality plastic, supplemented by a fine-meshed metallic grid on the front panel.



Inside, there is a single rack for the installation of optical drives; it’s estimated for two 5.25-inch units. There is also space for 4x 3.5-inch drives and 1x 2.5-inch drive. Hence, there is little space for graphics adapters, the length of which should not exceed 358 mm. The layout is intended for 140-mm high CPU coolers & standard ATX PS/2 power supply units.


SilverStone Precision PS12 is shipped with a single preinstalled 120-mm fan (front panel). Additionally, it’s possible to include one 80-mm fan (front panel) and one 80-/92-mm fan (rear panel). Pricing is set at $45.

Sharkoon Showcases Small-Sized QB ONE PC Chassis

Sharkoon Technologies GmbH come out in the European market with a new extraordinary PC chassis, entitled QB ONE. The model features 368x225x180 mm dimensions, ready to welcome mini-ITX mainboards. The layout offers two PCI expansion slots, two bays for 5.25-inch drives and three 3.5-/2.5-inch ones (all are installed without tools).



Sharkoon QB ONE is targeting graphics cards as long as 315 mm, PSUs (ATX & SFX) of 145 mm in length, CPU coolers as high as 150 mm, and heatsinks of 145 mm in height. Connectivity options include four USB ports (2x 3.0 version and 2x 2.0 version) and two audio ports. One of the most outstanding features pertained to the framework is a smart arrangement of all controls; this enables dual case positioning: horizontal and vertical.

Transcend Teases MTS Series of M.2 Drives

In the light of a violent proliferation of M.2 standard in mobile and desktop PCs, a number of manufacturers shifted their production into this segment. Transcend is one of the first companies to introduce its own M.2 rendition, teasing new MTS lineup that involves three different series: MTS400, MTS600, and MTS800. They feature M.2 2242, M.2 2260 and M.2 2280 form-factors correspondingly, that is to say they have different PCB length: 42, 60 and 80 mm respectively.



All three M.2 drives series are designed on MLC NAND flash memory chips. They accommodate DDR3 cache with SATA III 6 Gb/sec interface. The first, MTS400 series, embraces four models of 32 GB, 64 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB capacity, whereas MTS 600 and MTS800 count five models: plus 512 GB model in addition to the junior four.


As for speed characteristics, Transcend MTS400 is able to demonstrate up to 560 MB/sec Read speed on sequential operations and up to 160 MB/sec Write speed on analogous conditions. Its …
