ASMedia to Introduce USB 3.5 Controllers in 2014

ASMedia, an auspicious designer of PCIe bridges, USB 3.0 controllers and Switch IC items, announces the development of a new USB 3.5 controller. According to the preliminary information, this controller is going to support 10 Gb/sec data transfer speed, which is nearly twice higher than current USB 3.0. Earlier the launch of an advanced component was scheduled for late 2014, however, now the company is intended to officially introduce it early next year.



The decision to elaborate a speedier controller is explained by ASMedia in two ways. Firstly, the company is currently receiving more orders from motherboard manufacturers for the development of USB 3.0 hubs, due to the recent launch of Intel Haswell CPUs. Nonetheless, an enforcement of platform will sooner or later require an enforcement of various facilities, including connectivity and data transfer.

Intel to Release Celeron Ivy Bridge Processors in 2013

CPUs designed under 22 nm technological process are present practically in all Intel product lines but for Intel Celeron and Intel Atom series. This situation is going to change in the first quarter of the coming year, when new Itel Atom Silvermount and Celeron processors of Ivy Bridge generation are going to be introduced. Celeron series will be represented by three models: G1610, G1610T and G1620; they will substitute the items developed under 32 nm process. Compact MSI Vortex W25 Work Stations Are Already Available for Orders

The MSI vendor has announced a compact work station under the Vortex W25 name. The novelty is equipped with the 8th gen Intel Core i7 processor, performed according to the 14 nm technology. This computer obtained a motherboard based on the Intel Z370 logic set.

 

The graphics subsystem is represented by the professional NVIDIA Quadro discrete accelerator. Top configuration presupposes the presence of Quadro P5200 adapter and 16 GB of memory. There are four slots for SO-DIMM RAM modules, while the ultimate RAM volume supported is 64 GB (DDR4-2400). The storage subsystem may contain two high-speed NVMe M.2 SSD solid-state modules and one 2.5-inch drives.

 

The work station is supplied with Wi-Fi 802.11ас and Bluetooth 5 wireless adapters. Besides, there is a Gigabit Ethernet network controller for wired connection to computer network.
