The Ultra-Wide Brilliance 492P8 Monitor from Philips

Half a year ago Philips announced an ultra-wide Brilliance 492P8 monitor. However, the product was slightly upgraded on its way to the market. Instead of the 49-inch VA matrix with the 3840x1080 pixels resolution (32:9 aspect ratio) the specialty obtained the 49-inch panel with the 5120x1440 resolution.

 

Other specifications were left without modifications. Thus, Philips Brilliance 492P8 features the 1,800 mm curvature radius, the 5000:1 static contrast, the 600 cd/m² maximum brightness, and 178° viewing angles (horizontally and vertically). The PC can be connected via HDMI, DisplayPort and D-Sub ports. The back panel contains the USB-C, USB 3.0 ports and a gigabit network interface.

VivoPC X by ASUS Is a Small Desktop for Newbies Among VR-Gamers

The VivoPC X desktop computer by ASUS is not bigger than an Xbox One and weighs approximately 2.3 kg only, however, it’s a fully-featured PC, operated by Windows 10 and supporting VR. At the same time, it’s worth admitting, that the hardware is intended rather for beginners than for old hands at the game.



ASUS VivoPC X is equipped with a Kaby Lake Intel Core i5 CPU, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card and 8 GB of RAM memory. The 512 GB SSD is used for data storage, and the connectivity possibilities are provided by four USB 3.1 and two USB 2.0 ports. In addition, this novelty features 802.11ac Wi-Fi, the Gigabit Ethernet, two HDMI ports and a DisplayPort with the NVIDIA G-Sync technology support.


Inner components of the device are protected from overheating due to the heat pipe cooling system and plenty of vents.


ASUS VivoPC X will be on sale in March 2017 at the price of $800.

Intel Core i7-4000 Release is Scheduled for Q3’13

Intel has just unveiled its current year release plans and made a specific focus on Intel Core i7-4000 processor series. According to Intel, the new line of products, known also as Intel Ivy Bridge-E, is going to hit the market in Q3’13. Their launch will replace the Sandy-Bridge-E series – Intel Core i7-3000. The new-comers will support Socket LGA2011 CPU sockets, as well as Intel X79 chipset. This is called to dramatically facilitate the updating process of the current systems.



The first three models to appear in the market will be Intel Core i7-4960X, Intel Core i7-4930K, and Intel Core i7-4820K. They will all be delivered with an unlocked multiplier. The first two models are known to have six physical and twelve virtual processor cores.


The nominal frequency of Intel Core i7-4960X equals to 3.6 GHz and the dynamic frequency might achieve 4.0 GHz index. This processor will be equipped with 15 MB of cache-memory. Its cost will fluctuate within the measures of $1000. …
