Meet Self-Purified D.F.Vegas Fans from Enermax

Enermax has enlarged its lineup of fans with D.F.Vegas series. The series consists of two models: the D.F.Vegas & the D.F.Vegas Duo. The key differentiation between the two solutions lies in the current intensity as well as LED backlights. The first new-comer is equipped with 12 blue diodes, while the second model houses 12 red and 12 green diodes.



Enermax D.F.Vegas fans boast the implementation of self-purification technology – Dust Free Rotation (DFR). During the first ten seconds of operation the fan rotates contrary clockwise and then returns to standard rotational mode. That is how dust and litter is removed from the blades. If there is a need in manual cleansing, the blades can be easily detached.


Both fans are designed on Twister Bearing with MTBF index of 160 thousand hours. The frame accommodates a single 4-pin connector which supports PWM technology. Hence, it’s possible to limit the maximal rotation speed by 1100/1300/1500 RPM by means of a dedicated …

ID-Cooling Hunter Duet II Liquid Cooling System

ID-Cooling, being famous for its cooling systems, has released a Hunter Duet II cooler of large dimensions, which is supposed to transfer heat from the CPU and the graphics engine surfaces. This model is designed with a 360 mm heat sink, which is of great benefit to its efficiency factor.



The construction includes two water units with a base out of copper and built-in pumps, pipes in braided cable, the three-section aluminum 395 × 120 × 27 mm heat sink, three 120 mm fans, and an extraordinary framework with a 90 mm fan to blow over graphics card load-bearing elements and intensive plates for the CPU and GPU.


Though possessing similar construction, water units differ in lids design and the location of holes for liquid flow. At the moment their inner structure details are not available.

A compact fan to blow over VRM consumes 1.2 W. Its rotary speed is not higher than 1,500 rpm. The same ratio of each of the three main fans is not supposed to exceed 1,500–2,000 rpm.

Scythe Mugen 5 Is a Powerful CPU Cooler Up to 160 mm High

A new sample – Scythe Mugen 5 (SCMG-5000) – has come into line with the famous Scythe Mugen series. Its asymmetric Tower construction enhances compatibility with long RAM modules. The dimensions of the unit are 154.5 х 130 х 110 mm, and the weight equals to 890 g, which widens the range of chassis able to hold it.



Scythe Mugen 5 possesses a nickel-plated copper base frame, six nickel-plated copper heat pipes, an aluminum heatsink and a 120 mm Scythe Kaze Flex 120 PWM axial flow fan. It is constructed with refined hydrodynamic bearings (Sealed Precision FDB) with the specified life span of 120,000 hours. The rotary speed of 300–1,200 rpm is able to create an airflow in the volume of 16.6–51.17 CFM (28.2–86.93 m3/hr). The static pressure is estimated to be 0.076–1.05 mm H2O, and the noise level lies in the range of 4–24.9 dBA. One can optionally install another analogous fan on the other side.
