The Microchip Technology Co. has presented a new family of eight-bit PIC microcontrollers with core-independent peripherals. Among common features of these models one can highlight the presence of the internal frequency generator (32 MHz) and the memory boot partition security mechanism meant for protection from the faulty rerecording. Moreover, there is a secure device information area (DIA) storing the device unique identifier and calibration constants. The just-launched controllers are supported by the Microchip MPLAB Xpress with MPLAB Code Configurator (MCC) framework.This line of products offers 13 samples possessing 2 Kbyte of RAM and up to 28 Kbyte of onboard flash.
