Low-Profile Cooler Noctua NH-L12 Review

Noctua, an Austrian developer and supplier of high-end cooling systems, is well-known for the design of versatile products which are able to satisfy the needs of any consumer, starting from average home users and finishing with devotees of overclocking. The recent Noctua creation is the low-profile CPU cooler destined to be employed in HTPC systems and other compact chassis. This cooler is characterized by the horizontal localization of radiator that allows its installation into a quite narrow casing. Design and Framework


Noctua NH-L12 is notable for the classic design and framework. It features 150x128x93 mm dimensions (with two fans) which barely speak of low-profile form factor. FSP Intros ‘Noiseless’ PSU Model Aurum Xilenser 500

FSP, a renowned developer and supplier of power supply units, introduces a new product that is widely recognized as ‘noiseless’ PSU. Codenamed FSP Aurum Xilenser 500 (AU-500FLD), it employs a passive cooling system instead of an air cooler, thus its dump operation is easily explainable. The unit also characterizes by a startling efficiency which provided for the acceptance of 80+ Gold certificate.



Aurum Xilenser 500 takes similar to Aurum Pro/CM models design with a totally black casing and a comb-like top grid enclosed in a golden stripe. The model is able to operate at the nominal 500W power and support the latest ATX12V/EPS12V standards. It should be noted that this unit utilizes a standard framework with all power connectors soldered on the printed circuit board. The Switchover to Nvidia GeForce GTX 760

Nvidia has officially introduced one more graphics adapter from 700 series: GeForce GTX 760. As it was expected earlier, the card is based on GK104 graphics chip (on Kepler architecture) with 1152 CUDA cores, 32 ROPs and 96 TMUs. Its nominal clock frequency makes up 980 MHz, still this index might be overclocked at average to 1033 MHz.



Reference adapter is furnished with 2 GB of GDDR5 memory that employs 256-bit interface. Nonetheless, Nvidia does not exclude the possibility of introducing the models with 4 GB memory capacity. The nominal memory clock frequency equals to 1502 MHz, while its overclocked frequency reaches up 6008 MHz. This adapter is thought to support GPU Boost 2.0 technology that adjusts the overclocking frequency in reliance on GPU thermal condition.
