Top-Tier Chassis Zalman H1 Review

Zalman has long been deprived of a full-tower flagship PC chassis, after it discontinued the line of GS1200. The anticipation of a new etalon was accompanied by an overall market uncertainty as for the future of desktop platforms. Luckily, laptops and tablets couldn’t fully satisfy the customers’ growing needs, so Zalman decided to fire off with a new top-tier case, entitled H1. Stylish and magnetic from outside, this model has a lot of interesting options in the bins. Let’s have a look at them.

Key Features

Zalman H1 is a full-tower case, featuring 561x238x570 mm dimensions. The chassis is made of steel, aluminum and a high-quality plastic, with exterior and interior totally painted black. Internal layout allows for the installation of motherboards with elongated PCBs, including E-ATX and XL-ATX models. The model houses three external bays for 5.25-inch drives, seven internal bays for 2.5-/3.5-inch drives as well as nine expansion slots.

The case boasts some …

Thermalright Is Going to Present the TRUE Spirit 120 Direct Cooler

In the nearest time, Thermalright is going to present TRUE Spirit 120 Direct, which is a cooling device of an average efficiency. This construction weighs around 600 g and is 120 mm long, 67 mm wide and 141 mm high. It will apparently cost less than TRUE Spirit 140 Direct models (going for approximately $47).

The heatsink of TRUE Spirit 120 Direct consists of an aluminium pressure plate, four U-shaped copper nickelized 6 mm heat pipes and tens of perforated aluminium plates. The 120 mm fan is attached to the radiator by standard wire spikes. The rotary speed of this unit is unknown yet, however, taking into account another 120 mm fan cooler (TRUE Spirit 120M BW Rev.A), we may assume it will not exceed 1,500 rpm.

It is remarkable that in the lower part the fan is located almost at the base level. Such a strange design may prove its worth in systems, including motherboards with massive, but ineffective VRM heatsinks.

The list of compatible motherboards and processors …
