
SilverStone has replenished its inventory with a 4-bay NAS, entitled SST-TS433-TB. The new-comer is housed in a black aluminum case with an integrated zinc handle (124x166x248 mm dimensions). The storage allows to install high-capacity 3.5-/2.5-inch drives; each bay supports hot swapping functions and features a dedicated lock with LED activity indicator.
The heart of SilverStone SST-TS433-TB is Marvell 88SE9030 controller that is responsible for JBOD and RAID 0 operational modes. In the first case the drives function independently, whereas in RAID 0 mode they operate as a unified whole, evenly distributing information across the disc space.
The connection of NAS to the PC or other computing device is realized via a pair of Thunderbolt 2 ports which are characterized by the maximal bandwidth of 20 Gb/sec. These ports are known to support Daisy Chain function. Cooling of all internal components is entrusted to a single 90-mm fan.
