Gigabyte Aorus ATC700 - Silence is Gold

Introduction
Gigabyte has been producing cooling systems for PC for many years, and unfortunately not all of them were successful, sometimes leaving an ambiguous impression, but they still attracted attention to themselves.

The item of this review is its latest creation in this segment — the monstrous model ATC700, included in the Aorus lineup and presented at Computex 2017. According to the developers, the novelty is capable of removing more than 200W of heat from the processor.

Packaging
The cooler is supplied in the appropriate to its size large box (200x120x250 mm), made of high-quality cardboard with a full-color print.
The packaging depicts the cooling system and its parts in various angles, as well as all main specifications. There is also a brief description of the novelty in several languages. The cooling system itself is secured in a compound polyethylene package, which provides reliable protection of the product during transportation.
In addition, in the box you can find a black cardboard box with the delivery kit.
The user's guide is A3 folded six-fold sheet, printed on one side.

Main Characteristics
Gigabyte Aorus ATC700 has not quite typical for the tower-shape cooler appearance. This impression is created because of the massive upper plastic cover and the ribs of the aluminum plates bent at the 90° angle. Thanks to the latter they form a solid wall.

Let's consider the fans in more detail way.
Here models of standard size (120x120x25 mm) are used, the impeller of which consists of seven aerodynamic blades of black color. The design of the fans used two ball bearings. The declared resource of the given device is 70 000 hours, and it is about eight years of continuous work.
The fans themselves are not labeled, but according to specifications from the manufacturer's website, the operating voltage range is 5-12 V, the maximum current is 0.21 A. Thus, the maximum power consumption is 2.52 W, the flow rate reaches 14-53 CFM at speeds rotation in the range of 500-1700 rpm.

Now let’s come closer to the radiator.
The heat dissipator uses three copper heat pipes with an impressive diameter of 10 mm with direct contact to the processor cover. They are strung on 44 fairly thick aluminum plates. The distance between the plates is about 2 mm.

External dimensions of the radiator (without fan) come to 133x59x158 mm, the weight is 670 g.
The size of the base is 40x50 mm, this is enough for full contact with the processor cover in any modern construction. At least, from the number declared in the specifications of the novelty.

As can be seen, the quality of the base treatment leaves much to be desired.
The cooler supports AM4, LGA2066, LGA2011(v3), AM4, AM3(+), FM2(+), LGA115x, LGA1366, and LGA775.
It is also pleasant to note the integration of GIGABYTE AORUS ATC700 with a proprietary LED-backlight RGB fusion with support for 16.8 million colors and several modes of operation. It can be synchronized with the illumination of other branded products (for example, with the motherboard or video card). The overall dimensions of the novelty are 169x139x109 mm, and the weight reaches 955 grams.

Conclusion

Pros:
+120mm unique blade fan design
+Double ball bearing structure
+Heat-pipe direct touch technology
+High efficiency;
+Low noise level;
+Two fans in the kit;
+Support for the vast majority of popular sockets;
+PWM-speed control of impellers;
+Stylish design and LED lighting.

Cons:
-The price is unlikely to be low.

The novelty provides almost silent operation of the system at the nominal frequencies and in the -dispersal, it has an excellent potential and, apparently, is able to cope with processors with a TDP -level of up to 200 W. And due to the appearance, it stands out against the background of competitors.
