Shuttle Unveils XPC KS10 NAS with Support for WEP Encoding
Shuttle, a renowned Taiwanese designer of mini-PCs and barebone systems, has unveiled its newest NAS – the XPC KS10. It is housed in a solid aluminum case, featuring 124x60x205 mm dimensions. One of the major peculiarities pertained to the model is the support for WEP 64/128-bit encoding, as well as for WPA and WPA2 standards.

Shuttle XPC KS10 is developed on SoC Marvell 88F6707 processor (800 MHz frequency) on the basis of ARM Cortex-A7 cores. It is accompanied by 256 MB RAM, 1 GB flash-memory, and SD/SDXC/SDHC card reader with automatic copying option. The manufacturer insists that this NAS might be employed not only as network storage but also as a media server with DLNA support, FTP server, iTunes server, or print server.
Network subsystem is represented by gigabit Ethernet adapter and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n adapter. A pair of USB 2.0 ports ensures external connectivity facilities. Besides, the model supports Wake-on-LAN functions, automatic IP location and the work with a static IP address.
The XPC KS10 draws power via a dedicated electric adapter. Its maximal power supply consumption makes up 40 W. Finally, this NAS runs under a modified version of Embedded Linux platform. The manufacturer does not provide any data concerning the price.
