The product range of Silicon Power has been broadened by a shockproof external storage device, called Armor A75. The novelty, weighing 169 g, has the following dimensions: 124.4 х 82 х 12.2 mm, so it can be rightfully named “the thinnest device of a kind”.



Its trendy rugged ridges reinforce the construction and provide extra protection against shocks and scratches. The manufacturer assures the HDD can endure fall from the 1.22 m height without drastic consequences. The product resistance is ensured by the pure aluminium framework. Silicon Power applied the lightweight aluminium with effective heat dissipation to make Armor A75 the slimmest drive for data storing.


Inside the specialty houses the 2.5-inch HDD of 1 (or 2) TB capacity. It is also supplied with a USB 3.1 interface and a 3-year warranty. Below the vendor’s logo on the front one can easily find the L-shaped LED light, indicating the status of the device.

Gigabyte keeps on refilling its inventory of Intel Skylake-based solutions with a couple of new mini-PCs: Brix GB-BSi7T-6500 & Brix GB-BSi7HT-6500. The greenhorns are designed on a two-core Intel Core i7-6500U CPU that operates at 2.5/3.1 GHz frequency. The processor is accompanied by Intel HD graphics as well as DDR4-2133 MHz RAM (maximum capacity – 32 GB).



The fundamental difference between the two models lies in the storage layout. The GB-BSi7T-6500 features only M.2 slot for the installation of compatible drives, whereas the GB-BSi7HT-6500 adds one SATA 6 Gb/sec interface for 2.5-inch drive. All other specifications are analogous for the mini-PCs.


Therefore, the new-comers feature a single PCI Express M.2 expansion slot (occupied by Wi-Fi + Bluetooth module), Realtek ALC255 audio controller, Intel I219V gigabit network controller, Intel Dual-Band wireless-AC 3165, and an integrated 90-watt power supply unit. Gigabyte keeps on expanding the segment of mini-PCs with its proper Brix solutions. This time the lineup has been replenished with two models: Brix GB-BSCEA-3955 & Brix GB-BSCEHA-3955. The two differ from each other by the height of the case. The first new-comer features 119.4x112.6x34.4 mm dimensions, whereas its companion boasts 119.4x112.6x46.8 mm dimensions. The latter allows for the installation of an additional 2.5-inch drive of 7.0 or 9.5 mm height. Both models are targeting Intel Skylake platforms.



The other characteristics of these mini-PCs are identical. They are based on two-core Intel Celeron 3955U CPUs (14 nm) which operate at 2.0 GHz frequency. Processors cooperate closely with Intel HD Graphics 510 that runs at 300-900 MHz clock frequency. The motherboard PCB (110x105 mm) houses a couple of SO-DIMM slots for DDR4-2133 MHz RAM (up to 32 GB).
