The Thermaltake Company has announced a new Core X71 version of chassis. This solution is called Tempered Glass Edition and is produced in black colour.



One of the novelty’s panels possesses a window out of 4 mm tempered glass instead of the formerly used acrylic panel.


Due to its dual-chamber structure the chassis has much of the inner space, which allows to assemble a PC of almost any complexity with the liquid cooling system utilization.

Motherboards of Mini ITX, Micro ATX and ATX typical sizes can be installed. The maximum number of expansion cards is eight. One can use discrete graphics accelerators of up to 420 mm length.


In the front part of this product, there is enough room to mount a 480 mm heatsink, and it’s possible to install a 360 mm heat dissipator at the top. The preassembled power supply unit length equals to 220 mm.

A new sample – Scythe Mugen 5 (SCMG-5000) – has come into line with the famous Scythe Mugen series. Its asymmetric Tower construction enhances compatibility with long RAM modules. The dimensions of the unit are 154.5 х 130 х 110 mm, and the weight equals to 890 g, which widens the range of chassis able to hold it.



Scythe Mugen 5 possesses a nickel-plated copper base frame, six nickel-plated copper heat pipes, an aluminum heatsink and a 120 mm Scythe Kaze Flex 120 PWM axial flow fan. It is constructed with refined hydrodynamic bearings (Sealed Precision FDB) with the specified life span of 120,000 hours. Nowadays compact systems are becoming more widespread, thus increasing the popularity of low-profile cooling systems. Specifically for such systems, the SilverStone Company has designed a low-profile air cooling system under the NT08-115XP codename.



NT08-115XP is announced to be an alternative to a standard cooler out of the CPU supply kit. The manufacturer states, that this cooling system is able to disseminate up to 65 W of heat, so it’s not effective enough to chill down powerfull CPUs.


The dimensions of the SilverStone NT08-115XP cooling system are the following: 101 x 101 x 33 mm. It possesses an aluminum heatsink with a copper center hub. The rotary speed of the 80 mm fan (10 mm thick) is in the range of 1200–3400 rpm, producing an air flow of 5.64–15.98 CFM (9.58–27.15 m3/hr) and a noise level of 16.5–28.98 dBA.
