Asus Boasts a New Crossblade Ranger Motherboard of ROG Series

Asus is about to launch a new high-performance motherboard as a part of Republic of Gamers series. The Crossblade Ranger model is developed in ATX form-factor, featuring traditional black-and-red design. It is based on A88X chipset that targets all FM2+ APUs from AMD. According to the manufacturer, the new-comer is able to satisfy the basic needs of inveterate gamers who have at least $150 at their disposal.



The Crossblade Ranger is equipped with 8-phase VRM system, four RAM slots for DDR3 modules, a pair of PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots and a single PCI express 2.0 x16 slot. If there is a need to expand the motherboard’s facilities, a user is able to employ two more PCI Express x1 slots and the same amount of PCI slots. Graphics card from Colorful Technology company has become a real discovery at the crowned Computex 2012 exhibition. The major peculiarity of new GeForce GTX 680 iGame is seen in the integrated gigantic cooler of passive type which is called to ensure the sufficient heat removal. The developers have exceeded all expectations by presenting the graphics cars with such an original design and elaborate framework.



Passive cooler implemented in GeForce GTX 680 iGame consists of two solid aluminum radiators with the copper heat tubes. Those tubes are joined with a jumper which has other six heat tubes. The radiators are localized at both sides of the motherboard. The graphics card itself is of 15 cm in height; this place is dedicated to the nine expansion slots. Dell’s lineup of wide-screen monitors has been replenished by a new model – the UltraSharp U2917W. It is designed on a 29-inch AH-IPS panel, fitted with WLED backlight. The display supports 2560x1080 pixels resolution at 60 Hz refresh rate. The panel’s response time makes up 5 ms, while viewing angles achieve 178/178 degrees.



Dell UltraSharp U2917W boasts 300 cd/m2 brightness as well as the maximal color coverage: 99% in sRGB environment & 99% in REC709 environment. The typical static contrast ratio equals to 1000:1, whereas color rendering index makes up ΔE<2.


The monitor features an ergonomic stand which offers height, swivel and tilt adjustments. There is a possibility to mount the display on the wall, thanks to the dedicated VESA bracket.
