Netgear Boasts a New Advanced ReadyNAS Family

Netgear, a renowned designer of high-end network and storage solutions, has recently announced the release of a new NAS family, codenamed ReadyNAS. This family consists of three desktop NAS series (home, corporate and universal) and one rack model of 1U form-factor. Depending on the model, storages are delivered either in diskless configurations or complete with disks. One of the peculiarities pertained to these products is that they operate under a new version of ReadyNAS OS 6 platform.



According to Netgear, all the models within the ReadyNAS family are characterized by the implementation of diverse data protection options. Among others, the user will be able to utilize such functions as practically unlimited number of snapshots, replication with monitoring from the cloud, solid-drawn file synchronization due to ReadyDROP, integration with Dropbox, and automatic volume expansion due to XRAID. EK Water Blocks Adds the Latest EK-FB ASRock X299 RGB Monoblock Sample to Its Product Range

The Slovenian EK Water Blocks vendor is widely known for its liquid cooling systems components. It has recently introduced its EK-FB ASRock X299 RGB Monoblock unit, being the first EK Water Blocks product, produced for Intel X299 based ASRock baseboards.



The specialty is compatible with ASRock X299 OC Formula, ASRock X299 Taichi, ASRock Fatal1ty X299 Professional Gaming i9, ASRock X299 Killer SLI/ac and ASRock Fatal1ty X299 Gaming K6 cards. The water block's task is to draw heat away from the Intel Core X (LGA-2066) processor, as well as from powerful power supply subsystem voltage regulators.


The nickel-plated base of this EKWB specialty is made of copper and protected against corrosion. The manufacturer selected acrylic plastic as the material for the cover.

Be Quiet! announces the upcoming release of a new series of fans, entitled SilentWings 3. The lineup will consist of 4x 120-mm & 4x 140-mm items. All greenhorns are based on fluid dynamic bearing, estimated for 300.000 hours of foolproof operation. The fans employ either 3-pin or 4-pin power connectors and might run at 12V voltage index.



Be Quiet! SilentWings 3 items have a dual purpose: they can be used as system fans and as a part of CPU cooling. The 3-pin models come equipped with an adapter for the reduction of voltage from 12V to 7-5V; due to this, their noise level dwindles down to the minimal level. Technology IR (infrared, IR) connections are designed for installation stable wireless connection between your PC and the devices equipped with IR ports. Currently, this technology is not very popular, because speed limits of information transmission and small radius of action. However, the segment of computer and professional electronics full solutions with infrared connection: printers, scanners, cell phones, web Cams, video surveillance equipment etc.

IR devices usually are equipped with a special port that allows you to easily connect to another enabled device. In turn, the desktop/laptop requires the installation of such a port. For configuration and stable operation, use the driver for IR devices.

There are three ways to connect the IR port to computer: the connector IrDA on the motherboard (quite complicated from a technical point of view) connector to the COM or to the bus USB (the best option).

It should be noted that the wavelength of the IR-port does not exceed 900 nm. This figure sets strict limits on the part of the working distance between the two infrared devices is 1 meter.
